Code of Conduct of the Citizen Soldier

"We have but one rule here, and it is that every student must be a gentleman."
- Gen. Robert E. Lee

Duty, Honor, Country.

The militia represents the very highest ideals in human morality, where every man and woman respects the life, liberty, and property of the individual and takes it as their duty to honor all humanity as entitled to justice before the law, having God-given, natural rights to life, liberty, and property, and that no one should be deprived of these unalienable rights without due process of law. The militia, then, acts to uphold and implement justice and secure the peace. Ethics and justice are the application of morality, and morality the knowledge of right from wrong.

This, then, is the Code of Conduct of the Citizen Soldier:

  1. I will keep and maintain the uniform, equipment, and weaponry necessary to perform the duties required by a well regulated militia, and will be prepared to mobilize quickly.
  2. I will never forget that I am a Citizen of a Sovereign Free State, and through it, of these United States. I am responsible for my actions and dedicated to the principles that made this country free. I will strive to lead an exemplary life and never, by action or statement, bring discredit to the militia, my country, or my fellow countrymen.
  3. In all cases, I shall endeavor to inform and urge all citizens to return to the Constitutional Republic our forefathers envisioned.
  4. I will never misuse my position in the militia for financial or personal gain, nor will I engage in any activity subversive to the militia.
  5. I will never have any alcohol or illegal drugs while on militia property. In addition, I will be sober at all musters and anytime I am in the militia uniform in public. This will include all traveling to and from militia musters and activities.
  6. I will live by the Code of Duty, Honor, and Country, that my example may never reflect badly upon the militia or lead others astray. I will strive always to be a gentleman (or lady), and will avoid the use of profanity in my life so that others, especially children, will not stumble and fall because of me.
  7. I will always carry my firearm loaded, with the chamber empty, while at any militia muster or activity. I will always strictly follow all firearm safety rules, including refraining from any activity that might endanger myself or any other citizen.

"The duty is ours, the consequences are God's"
- Gen. Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson
